Role Summary:

The Cloud/Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure with a focus on cybersecurity, including zero trust methodologies and Microsoft integration. This role requires expertise in business continuity, disaster recovery, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and process automation. The candidate must have a strong grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, with the ability to customize them for enhanced security and efficiency. They will also create documentation for administrative processes supporting the infrastructure.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing, and implementation of cloud solutions, offering guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft 365.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures, including single sign-on (SSO) and multifactor authentication.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Azure and other tools.
  • Monitor system health and performance, prioritizing security posture.
  • Administer and optimize Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Utilize Intune and Autopilot for endpoint management and process automation.
  • Design and maintain operating system backup solutions for system and disaster recovery.
  • Document and diagram implementations, ensuring adherence to best practices and planned strategies.
  • Contribute to defining the long-term direction, roadmaps, and standards for technical solutions in alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Recommend cloud-based solutions to enhance employee experience, reduce complexity, improve security, and minimize failures.
  • Identify single points of failure and areas lacking resiliency.
  • Contribute to technology evaluation and reengineering for strategy definition and continuous process improvement.
  • Lead and manage projects to completion.
  • Provide regular updates on workload and projects to management.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Azure features, services, and security trends.
  • Develop and maintain automation of cloud enablement tools.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update knowledge and develop professionally on a continuing basis. Participate in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
  • Perform other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Intune, and Autopilot.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity, particularly in zero trust security methodologies, with relevant certifications preferred.
  • Ability to create detailed documentation and data flow diagrams.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead and collaborate on multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and automation tools.
  • Strong documentation and diagramming skills to convey complex information clearly.
  • Preferred certifications include:
    • Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104 & Azure Solutions Architect Expert AZ-305
    • Azure Security Engineer Associate AZ-500
    • Azure Network Engineer Associate AZ-700
    • Identity and Access Administrator Associate SC-300

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a pleasant office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Frequent mental concentration is necessary for listening and responding to various situations. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds unassisted. Some twisting, bending, and turning is required. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average 40 hours a week.
